The Possession of Hannah Grace (2018)

This is a movie I saw for free when we got free movie channels for 4th of July.

Released by Sony. Sony has a bit of a reputation for pretty "meh" horror films.

I haven't really done a "negative" review but I figure if I want an actual job reviewing I'm gonna have to.

So this movie. It's very....generic. The title sounds like a million other possession films but the plot is at least somewhat different. A morgue worker is on the night shift and the body of Hannah Grace is there. ....Stuff.....happens. Doors open. Cameras glitch. The body might be haunted but she can't be sure.

Hannah Grace died during an exorcism apparently, and the demon is haunting the halls. I don't really think that's a spoiler because that's about the only thing that happens. The actual possession is only seen at the very start of the film and the rest takes place in the morgue. I also feel like this isn't even biblically accurate? Not that people care about that, but personally I don't think a demon can kill a priest. Average viewers might question it too though. How is this demon controlling this dead body?Rigor Mortis should have set in by now. And why does the demon only use the body sometimes and not others? Is it lazy?

There's more bits with Hannah's dad trying to break in to completely destroy the body which is alright, but it's still pretty average.

This isn't completely effortless, I can tell the director tried, but this really isn't scary except for maybe young teenagers. The special effects were decent however, and the gash on her neck made me cringe.

Overall. A good watch if you're really bored or high I suppose.
